May I Ask You a Question?

If I arranged an opportunity for you to meet six multi-millionaires and each one offered to hand you a $2,000.00 check, would you do it?

Pretty good offer, wouldn’t you say?  You would probably jump on that in a heart beat - I sure would!

But it gets better, suppose they also offered to share with you their deepest secrets about success in business - how they did it and what their thinking was that got them there.  How valuable would that be - off the charts, right?

But What if You Had to Make a Choice between the Two –
 

1. The $2,000.00 Instant Money, or…

2. The Wisdom that brought the Millionaire to the Financial Condition they’re in today? 

Sounds like the old “Genie jokes” - remember those?  You know - you’re on a desert island.  You trip over a lamp in the sand and out comes a gorgeous genie, who offers you three wishes… You’ve heard multiple versions of that joke, right?

The question presents a quandary – a choice between “Instant Money”, or the Millionaire’s “Wisdom” that created their successful financial condition.  Which would you choose?

You start to sweat, but it doesn’t take long - you decide to go for the instant money.  After all, how many times has this kind of windfall occurred?  The fact is, Most People would take the money; and guess what would happen next.  They would spend that $12,000.00 within, oh, I’d guess, two or three weeks at most.  As you well know, you can spend $12K in hours, if not a whole lot quicker.  You may have experienced something similar at least once in your life.  You’d end up buying a few nice things, or one single thing; and buying that new stuff would provide some degree of exhilaration for a few brief moments.

But after you spent the money, what would happen?  You would wake up, look around, scratch your head, and wonder, “what just happened?”  And more importantly, you’d be saying, “what happened to the money – my money”? 

The Fact is: that Money Goes Away!

You try to console yourself: “Oh, I bought a ________ (insert what you imagined you bought) to show for that money.”  But have you noticed?  That ________, after only a few months begins to lose its luster.  You notice that your _______ isn’t as attractive as it was when it was sitting on a store-room shelf, the pages of a catalogue, or a show-room floor.  In fact, the longer you have it, the less attractive it becomes.  Old stuff doesn’t have the allure it did when you were looking at it before you bought it, would you not agree?  Hey, it’s a fact of life - our stuff gets old, and less valuable as time goes on.  The “Law of Diminishing Value” comes to mind.

Recognizing the fact that “our stuff gets old” brings up an old fable.  It’s so well known, and the title gives us the picture we really need to think about…

This is a wonderful story created centuries ago, and it’s stuck around to this day.  Why?  Because it’s simple and it conveys powerful truth – the moral being that it is far better to have something that produces Golden Eggs (the Goose) than it is to have a Golden Egg.  In fact, THERE IS NO COMPARISON!  Can I give you some of the best advice I could ever give you?  TAKE the GOOSE! 

Only a fool would choose the egg, yet that is exactly what Most People (MP’s) do every single day.  In our example above, given the choice of Instant Money or the Wisdom to Create Wealth, Most People (MP’s) choose the instant, quick-fix.  They opt for the short-term cash, and frankly, that is a very silly decision.  If you’ll take the time to analyze in terms of benefits for your life, and not just immediate, momentary benefits, the concept of “instant gratification” is a very ill-advised choice.  A golden egg might be worth $10,000.00.  But a goose that lays a golden egg over and over again can be worth $Millions$ in ongoing cash flow!

The fact is, you would have made a much, much better decision by choosing to ‘drink in’ successful Millionaires’ wisdom - learning how to Create Wealth - how to create a Multi-million Dollar Financial Situation.  You would be far better off by choosing to be Mentored/Coached on an ongoing basis by the highly successful individuals I introduced you to than to be given short-term cash.  Unquestionably, wisdom and knowledge are by far more valuable - the best, and really, only way to go.

The Golden Egg is good, but the Goose is better.  And the Goose in the old fable is only a metaphor for wisdom – for learning how to produce wealth over and over again – many times over.  My encouragement to you is that you begin to soak in the wisdom of how to create and grow true lasting wealth.  And then, become comfortable at actually doing so.  Guess what – YOU will become the Goose – your business and the wealth you create will become the Goose as well.
